We happy to announce that we will be releasing the new record from Portland hip-hop artist and recent Amigo/Amiga collaborator Tope this year! Over the past few years, Tope has been a creative force in the Portland music scene, constantly collaborating with different musicians – and not just hip-hop artists (see Angry Orts, AndAndAnd, & our own Kelli Schaefer). We’ve been impressed with his inability to stop working, and his need to push forward creatively – never sticking to the same old routine. We are glad to welcome such a well-listened, prolific artist. We really love the new record, and we believe you will too.
Keep an eye out for details on the release. We will keep you posted.
Welcome aboard, Tope.

Drew Grow & the Pastors’ Wives announced this morning that they will be headed out on tour with Sub Pop band the Head & the Heart this March. In an effort to miss out on all of the SXSW festivities this year, the band opted to head to the east coast. Tour dates are to your left or are available at drewgrow.com. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, December 16th. As always, thanks for your support.

If you’ve been to a grocery store recently, you are aware that today is Christmas, and Thanksgiving is tomorrow. So in keeping up with the times we are happy to announce that the third annual Amigo/Amiga Holiday Party is scheduled for December 22nd! As per usual, our own Drew Grow & the Pastors’ Wives and Kelli Schaefer are set to play and we’ve also invited some friends from out of town to play as well: Birds & Batteries (Bay Area) and Jason Dodson (Seattle – The Maldives)
You can get tickets to the event in advance by clicking here on this BIG BLACK BOX OF TEXT. As always, we keep the cost of our holiday party to the bare minimum – this year they are just $8 in advance and day of show.
We look forward to seeing you! These are always a blast. Thanks for your support, as always.

Starting this Friday, all Amigo/Amiga full-length albums (CD’s / Vinyl / Downloads) will be available from our online store for just $10 + applicable shipping. In celebration of making it through 3/4 of an insanely good and terrible year (am I right?) we will offer the albums for this low price for three full weeks – and will end October 20th. All EP downloads will be $1 off as well.
October 20th (coincidentally, the same day our ridiculous online sale ends) is the first date of Drew Grow & the Pastors’ Wives month-long tour of the Southwest and West Coast. The band will be joining up with Merge Records band Wild Flag in Houston, where they will begin to make the trek back home ending mid-November. Check to your left, or check the brand new DrewGrow.com for tour dates and see if the band will be in your town over the next couple of months!

We just updated loads of new shows and ticket links right here on amigoamigarecordings.com. The remainder of this year is full of great shows. For the Cliff’s Notes, see the following:
This weekend, Kelli Schaefer will be playing a show in Tacoma, and a house show with Damien Jurado in Seattle, as well as PDX Pop Now! this Sunday night; not to mention Doe Bay Fest next month, Music Fest NW in September, and the Seattle Weekly Reverb Fest this October.
Drew Grow & the Pastors’ Wives just came back from a west coast tour, and are preparing for a busy few months ahead. KEXP and No Depression will present their Concerts at the Mural series in August, featuring Drew Grow & PW on the 26th. In September the band will play Music Fest NW with The Thermals, the Tractor Tavern in Seattle with Widower and Whalebones, and The Shakedown in Bellingham with Baltic Cousins. Come October, the band will head out towards Texas, and will meet the Devil Whale and Telegraph Canyon along the way, before meeting up with the insanely great Merge Records band Wild Flag for a couple of weeks between Texas and Vancouver B.C.
Look to your left for links to tickets and get them quickly – so many of these shows will be sold out, so get them while you can. And look in the record stores near you (nation-wide) for CD and Vinyl copies of the albums – due in stores August 16. If they don’t have it, request it!
PHEWW! Let’s do this.

Kelli Schaefer will play a benefit show Thursday, June 30th at the Columbia City Theater. The show is hosted by Seattle group Team Up For Non-Profits & Gigs For Good, and will benefit the non-profit Arts Corps.
Local Seattle band Curtains for You will headline the event as well.
Tickets are $20 for the cause (an exhaustive explanation of the show and what Arts Corps does, can be found here on the ticket page or here on their official site). This summer, Schaefer will participate in multiple benefit shows, so keep an eye out if the philanthropist in you is tugged at when the sun comes out.
