We happy to announce that we will be releasing the new record from Portland hip-hop artist and recent Amigo/Amiga collaborator Tope this year! Over the past few years, Tope has been a creative force in the Portland music scene, constantly collaborating with different musicians – and not just hip-hop artists (see Angry Orts, AndAndAnd, & our own Kelli Schaefer). We’ve been impressed with his inability to stop working, and his need to push forward creatively – never sticking to the same old routine. We are glad to welcome such a well-listened, prolific artist. We really love the new record, and we believe you will too.

Keep an eye out for details on the release. We will keep you posted.

Welcome aboard, Tope.

Third Annual Holiday Party

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

If you’ve been to a grocery store recently, you are aware that today is Christmas, and Thanksgiving is tomorrow. So in keeping up with the times we are happy to announce that the third annual Amigo/Amiga Holiday Party is scheduled for December 22nd! As per usual, our own Drew Grow & the Pastors’ Wives and Kelli Schaefer are set to play and we’ve also invited some friends from out of town to play as well: Birds & Batteries (Bay Area) and Jason Dodson (Seattle – The Maldives)

You can get tickets to the event in advance by clicking here on this BIG BLACK BOX OF TEXT. As always, we keep the cost of our holiday party to the bare minimum – this year they are just $8 in advance and day of show.

We look forward to seeing you! These are always a blast. Thanks for your support, as always.

Amigo/Amiga Holiday Party

Friday, December 10th, 2010

In 2009, we threw a holiday party for our little record label, and this year we’ve decided to do it again. In 2009 we donated $273 to the Oregon Food Bank by taking $1 from each ticket sale to go to the organization. We plan to do the same and better this year, so get your tickets in advance and help the Food Bank when they need it most…

Tickets are available here and more information on the Oregon Food Bank here

This show nearly sold out last year, so we highly recommend getting advance tickets to make sure you can get in. We will love to see you there.

Drew Grow | Comfort Feel EP

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Wednesday, December 8, Drew Grow will release a 6 song solo EP titled “The Comfort Feel”. Following the release of the fully produced, self titled record with the Pastors’ Wives, this EP is all recorded simply – just Drew and his acoustic guitar the way the full band versions are born. As we’ve said for some time, behind all of the layers of the full production is simply a compelling song – and this EP highlights the song in and of itself, alone in a Portland basement. The EP will include acoustic versions of previously heard songs and some brand new previously unreleased songs.

The solo-album release show will be at The Woods in Portland, OR with longtime friend and one of Paste Magazine’s “100 Best Living Songwriters” Bill Mallonee to headline and local artist Chris Marshall to open.

The Kickstarter project for Kelli Schaefer’s new record reached its goal late last night so the good news is, we can expect a new full-length album this February. Thanks to everyone who believed in the project enough to pitch in – we really appreciate it.

If you have planned on backing the project but haven’t yet, please feel free to donate, as this will help us understand better how many copies of the record to order. There are still some great rewards available so don’t be shy – this site acts as a pre-order for the album and we will love to send you your copy when Kelli Schaefer’s debut full-length is available! As always, Thank You for your support.
